Church Car Tours 2017

The first of this year’s car tours for Friends and guests will take place on the afternoon of Sunday 14 May commencing at Birlingham at 2.30. We will visit three churches concluding with tea at Besford. Our Chairman and author of “Churches of Worcestershire”, Tim Bridges will give a short talk on the history of each of the churches.

The cost is £8 per attendee to include tea. Cheques payable to WDHCT.

Birlingham St James – 15th Century Perpendicular with Norman Chancel Arch. Parking adjacent to the church. (WR10 3AQ).

Defford St James – Norman origins with unusual carvings. A 14th Century stone base to the black & white tower. Simple whitewashed interior.  Large public car park nearby (WR8 9BL).

Besford St Peter Chapelry –  Included in Simon Jenkins' book 'England's 1000 Best Churches' Besford church is one of very few in the country to have a wooden nave. We are making special arrangements for parking nearby. (WR8 9AP).
