Droitwich

Anglican: St Andrew

St Andrew's dates back to the 13th century, it stands in the older part of Droitwich Town Centre.
The medieval tower, shown in the old postcard below, was removed in 1926 due to subsidence caused by the extraction of the salt for which the town is famous.
The ground plan in Church Plans Online appears to be for re-seating.

St Andrew's is open daily during daylight hours. (Ref Parish Office July 2014)

Anglican: St Nicholas

The first church of St Nicholas in Droitwich was built in the 12th century and destroyed in the town fire of 1293. A second church from the early 14th century survived until the mid 17th century. The current St Nicholas was  built to the designs of local architect John Smith in 1866 to serve the expanding west side of the town. The original plans included a spire which was never built.

Situated about 1 mile south east of the town centre, St Peter de Witton was founded as a Priory Church in the 12th century. The surrounding area is now residential.  The church retains much Norman, 13th century, work. The west tower is 15th century and the building was restored in the 19th century. St Peter's is usually open during daylight hours. (Ref: Parish Website 2014.)
