Welland

Anglican: St James.

St James Church is situated at the crossroads in the centre of the village. It was built in 1873/75, by J W Hugall of Oxford, to replace a medieval church which was near Welland Court about a mile to the east. There was also an Anglican mission church (now a private house) to the west in Upper Welland. St James was re-ordered in the early 21st century to allow for more community use. It is open daily during the summer and weekly in the winter, see A Church Near You for details (Ref March 2015).
