Croome d’Abitot
Anglican: St Mary Magdalene
An 18th century Georgian Gothic estate church designed by Capability Brown in 1762 with the interior designed by Robert Adam. It replaced an earlier church, dedicated to St James, and some records still refer to St James. Vested in the Churches Conservation Trust since 1975 and restored by them. The tombs of the Earls of Coventry in the chancel are especially noteworthy. The church forms part of the Croome Park Estate managed by the National Trust and is open most days.
