Hanley Castle

Anglican: St Mary

A large church with Norman origins. The massive brick tower dates from 1674 when the church was rebuilt following substantial damage in the Civil War.  The church was restored in 1858 by G E Street.  The west window of 1860, The Last Judgement, is reckoned to be amongst the finest work of Clayton and Bell.  St Mary’s is open daily.
